Angelina Jolie Writes Op-Ed About Her Double Mastectomy
Actress Angelina Jolie revealed in a New York Times opinion piece that she had a preventive double mastectomy to lower her breast cancer risk. The Oscar-winner, who lost her mother to cancer, disclosed that she carries an inherited gene mutation, and decided to have the surgeries because she had a high risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer.
