Airless Bike Tires Use Carbon Nanotubes to Keep Their Shape
A Colorado-based designer has developed a unique solution to the dreaded flat tire: airless tires. Brian Russell created a bicycle tire that wraps rubber around carbon nanotube-reinforced composite rods to provide a cushioned, airless solution. While it's still a prototype, the Energy Return Wheel (ERW) offers a much-needed solution to the inevitable flat.
